Free radicals and oxidative stress

The latest topic in modern medicine

Free radicals cause most pathologies and the ageing process in living beings.
Normally the human body is equipped with an antioxidant system to defend itself against these free radicals.
If the quantity of free radicals produced becomes too large, which may occur if you follow an unhealthy diet, smoke or drink too much alcohol, your antioxidant system cannot neutralize the amount of free radicals any more -
you suffer from
antioxidative stress.
